ADVANCING RESEARCH, IMPROVING EDUCATION

Webcasts on Knowledge Translation Topics

SEDL's Disability Research to Practice (DRP) program offers webcasts to a wide audience, including researchers/grantees funded by NIDRR and RSA in the US Department of Education, people with disabilities and their families, professional organizations, and other stakeholders. The purpose of the webcasts is to increase awareness of and discussions regarding knowledge translation (KT) concepts and other topics of broad scope related to KT, standards of evidence, programs of excellence, effective outreach activities, and conclusions/implications from research addressing topics of high interest to users of evidence-based research.

Each webcast is approximately 60 to 90 minutes long and is moderated by a member of SEDL's DRP staff. Presenters include researchers, policymakers, practitioners, people with disabilities, and other experts. The webcasts do not have a video component but provide audio with real-time captioning. Either Windows Media Player or RealPlayer may be used with a variety of browsers, such as Internet Explorer and Safari. (NOTE: Windows Media Player is not compatible with Firefox or Google Chrome browsers for these webcasts. Technical capabilities include the display of PowerPoint presentations and handout materials, including accessible formats. During the live events, viewers are able to submit questions to the presenter(s) by e-mail or by toll-free telephone.
