Technical Assistance Service
Overview
The NCDDR offers Technical Assistance (TA) services for NIDRR grantees at no charge. This service is designed to help build the capacity of NIDRR grantees to negotiate the knowledge translation process with a goal of increasing the inclusion of NIDRR-sponsored research in systematic reviews.
What type of TA services can be requested?
TA services are individually tailored to address challenges identified by current NIDRR grantees related to dissemination, utilization outcomes, and any components of the knowledge translation process. For example, grantees may request assistance in planning to implement KT most effectively and efficiently within a NIDRR-funded project.
On-site Technical Assistance: NCDDR staff/consultants will provide on-site TA services by working with grantees at their location. On-site TA typically includes a larger number of grantee staff members, may involve a review of numerous documents or other resources at the grantee's site, and/or results in intensive consultations spanning more than one day.
Off-site Technical Assistance: NCDDR staff/consultants will typically provide off-site TA via teleconference(s) supported by the NCDDR and which may include Web page support or other informative materials. Off-site TA activities are typically spread over several days, weeks, or months.
How does the service work?
Upon receiving your request, the NCDDR will coordinate with staff and consultants to provide you with a response. Most correspondence is conducted via e-mail, though some consultation is conducted by phone.
