Projects Reporting Capability to Produce Formats and Formats Frequently Used

Table four presents the formats that two hundred ninety-four NIDRR grantees reported they have the capability of using, and those they report using frequently (by number and percent, in nineteen ninety-nine).

Electronic/computer file or disk. Two hundred eighty-eight grantees or ninety-eight percent report having the capability of producing this format and one hundred twenty-seven grantees or forty-three and two-tenths percent of all grantees report using Electronic Files frequently.

Large Print. Two hundred eighty-three grantees or ninety-six and three-tenths percent report having the capability of producing this format, and forty-seven grantees or sixteen percent of all grantees report using Large Print frequently.

Audio/Oral. Two hundred fifty-five grantees or eighty-six and seven tenths percent of grantees report having the capability of producing this format, and forty-eight grantees or sixteen and three-tenths percent of all grantees report using Audio/Oral formats frequently.

Visual/Graphic (non-print). Two hundred thirty-eight grantees or eighty-one percent of grantees report having the capability of producing this format, and forty-seven grantees or sixteen percent of all grantees report using Visual/Graphic formats frequently.

Other Language. (If yes, which?) Two hundred twelve grantees or seventy-two and one-tenth percent of grantees report having the capability of producing the format, and thirty-four grantees or eleven and six-tenths percent of all grantees report using another language frequently.

Of YES responses, one hundred thirty-two reported the language as Spanish. Twenty-seven other languages were reported, including Alaska native, six Asian, Arabic, ASL, Cambodian, two Chamorro, ten Chinese, five Dutch, two Filipino, eight French, eleven German, Greek, two Haitian, Hmong, four Italian, six Japanese, five Korean, Navajo, Norwegian, Pohnpeian, Polish, Portuguese, three Russian, three Samoan Swedish, Tongan, and three Vietnamese.

Braille. One hundred ninety grantees or sixty-four and six-tenths percent of grantees report having the capability of producing the format, and thirty-five grantees or eleven and nine-tenths percent of all grantees report using Braille frequently.

Opened-caption Video. One hundred forty six grantees or forty-nine and seven-tenths percent of grantees report having the capability of producing this format, and eleven grantees or three and seven-tenths percent of all grantees report using Opened-caption Video frequently.

Closed-caption Video. One hundred thirty nine grantees or forty-seven and three-tenths percent of grantees report having the capability of producing this format, and five grantees or one and seven-tenths percent of all grantees report using Closed-caption Video frequently.

Descriptive Video. One hundred thirteen grantees or thirty-eight and four-tenths percent of grantees report having the capability of producing this format, and two grantees or seven-tenths of one percent of all grantees report using Descriptive Video frequently.
