Participation is open to the public and there is no registration cost.

The purpose of the meetings is to receive public comment on the draft Healthy People 2020 objectives and topic area. HHS is also interested in receiving recommendations on strategies to make national health improvement progress across a range of diseases, conditions, behaviors and determinants of health.

[FYI - Please note that there will be an opportunity to review and comment on the newly developed draft Healthy People 2020 objectives and topics areas at the American Public Health Association (APHA) meeting in Philadelphia, November 7-11, 2009, Philadelphia Convention Center.]

This resource guide is the culmination of cooperative efforts by NIDRR, the Department of Education, the Research Subcommittee of the Interagency Coordinating Council on Emergency Preparedness and Individuals with Disabilities (ICC), and the New Freedom Initiative Subcommittee of the Interagency Committee on Disability Research (ICDR). The guide provides a listing and description of research projects funded by the federal government and nonfederal entities, research recommendations that have come out of conferences on emergency management and disability, and a bibliography of relevant research publications.
